Parmco cooking in our room

This term we took part in the 'Let's cook with Parmco' cooking challenge. We had to cook a dish at school every week and our final challenge was done at home.

In week one we cooked Chicken and Oregano

In week three we made Apple strudel.

In week four it was our home challenge. Here are some of what our class made at home with the help of their parents. They all look scrumptious!

Black colour poem

                                  Black
Black is burnt
Black is unpleasant
Black is tea
Black is a dark colour
Black tastes like coffee
Black smells like the aroma of burning
Black sounds like  low voices coming from the hallway
Black feels like darkness
Black looks like dark shadows creeping up on you
Black makes me shiver
Black is scary
By phoebe

Brown colour poem

                                      Brown
Brown is creamy
Brown is chocolate
Brown is not special
Brown is caramel sliding down the side of my icecream
Brown tastes like chocolate moose
Brown smells like fresh cooking
Brown sounds like popcorn popping
Brown feels like eating popcorn
Brown looks like its own colour
Brown makes me feel uncomfortable
Brown is tasty
By phoebe

Blue colour poem

                       Blue
Blue is dreamy
Blue is my favourite colour
Blue is cold but warm in ways
Blue is the sky above
Blue tastes like the aeroplane lollies
Blue smells like the blue bulk daisy
Blue sounds like the sound of bellbirds humming in the distance
Blue feels like calmness all through the land
Blue looks cool
Blue makes me feel happy
Blue is the colour of a sapphire

Today our pen pails came to our school for the day. First the buddy's came into the class and put their stuff ( school bags ) in the cloack bay . Then miss Thomas found our buddy's and put us in our pen pail groups . So then we made a paper slide with our buddy's .  Then we had morning tea . After morning tea we went to the mult purpose room and did some experiments . After that it was lunch . After lunch we finished our paper slide . Then we did one more experiment that was the diet coke and mentos it exploded . Then they got ready to go . After that we got to say one last goodbye and then they left to home .

My day with my buddy (Lucy)

Today or pen-pal class came to our school to see what our school is like and to meet us in person. My buddy Lucy and the rest of her class were so excited and so were we. Firstly we me and Milan led them to our classroom and we got together with our buddies. We showed them around the school. When we got back they taught us how to make a paper slide and then we videoed it. After morning tea we done six different science experiments they were all so cool. After lunch we done the best experiment, diet coke with mentos. It was a cool explosion. Afterwards was the sad part, saying goodbye. But the good thing is that we will see them soon in term four!

Wearable Arts 2013

The wearable arts had a recycled theme this year. There were four categories that we could enter into; futuristic, mythical, vintage and street wear.  If we did not want to enter the show we could use our skills to create an accessory such as footwear, hats, ties or bags. We had lots of people enter in our classroom. Tonight is the show and we also have the school dance groups, glee and choir performing too.

The NED Show

When Toby met Clyde.

On Tuesday Clyde and Ned came to clevedon school to do a show. They showed us tricks with yo-yos. It was very enjoyable and entertaining. The best bit was he did it all for free! After the show we were told that we were aloud to buy yo-yos. There was the Ned yo for $9.00c, there was the boomerang for $14.00c, and the cosmic spin for $19.00c. I bought a boomerang.

Our celery experiment

We put pieces of celery into containers of yellow dye, red food colouring, green food colouring to see what would happen. The dye and colouring travelled up the stem of the celery and out into the leaves just like water would from the ground.

Our assembly

On Thursday the 27th June we ran the senior assembly. We had worked hard all week preparing it.

Class captains Zach and Alex organised the class with tasks that needed to be completed by Thursday or what to say on the day as a MC for a particular part of the assembly.

It all went without a problem and the parents enjoyed listening to our narratives (thanks Charlotte and Tobin), learning about what we learnt at the museum (thanks to Kate and Grace) and got to watch our movie about our trip.

Room 7 you did a fantastic job and worked together to accomplish a great assembly. Thank you to Miranda, Lucia and Caitlin who helped run all the technology and music that was needed. You all worked hard and should be proud of your achievements!
